First-year College of Engineering students have the opportunity to engage with research via Undergraduate Program for Leaders In Future Transformation (UPLIFT). In the fall semester, this engagement takes the form of biweekly seminars presented by faculty members across various engineering disciplines.
Current UPLIFT participant and Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) first-year, Eric Chao, says of the program: “As a CoE student, I find the UPLIFT program to be an incredible opportunity for me, a student without prior engineering or research experience, to dive into research as a freshmen. Additionally, I love seeing how various engineering disciplines are applied in the real world, displaying Northeastern’s commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration. I am very excited for the chance to participate in research in the spring under many of these amazing faculty that are participating in this program.”
This would not be possible without the generous support of the following faculty who have hosted or will host seminars this semester:
We are also very grateful to the following faculty who have recorded seminars to make this opportunity more accessible to all students: Professor Sandra Shefelbine (MIE/BioE), Professor Joshua Gallaway (MIE), Professor Siddhartha Ghosh (ECE), Professor Francesco Restuccia (ECE), Professor Ruobing Bai (ECE), and Professor Juner Zhu (MIE).
