Sniffer droids were a type of droid used by the Coruscant Security Force to locate contraband on the planet Coruscant. After a portrait of the criminal Pyke Syndicate capo Lom Pyke was discovered during an investigation of Galactic Republic Senator Yudrish Sedran in 7941 C.R.C., the traceable unique markers of spice found in the portrait’s canvass helped the security force’s sniffer droids and hound teams track down contraband on the docks of Coruscant’s Level 1313.[1]
Coruscant Security Force Inspector Tanivos Divo wrote about the sniffer droids used in the investigation in his case files, with the portion mentioning the droids later published by Divo’s grandson, Exantor Divo, in his book, Scum and Villainy: Case Files on the Galaxy’s Most Notorious,[1] in 34 ABY.[2]
