Who are the Temporal Tenth?
A secret society founded by W.E.B. Dubois and Booker T. Washington at the turn of the 20th century works to recreate H.G. Wells’ Time Machine. They create a network of agents across newly-formed Historically Black Colleges and Universities to carry their intentions into a precarious future, with legacy agents at these institutions carrying on throughout Black History as we know it
.

A scene from “The Temporal Tenth”.

The TEMPORAL TENTH are a parallel to Dubois’ “Talented Tenth” intellectual theory, coupled with the “Tuskegee Machine” premise of Douglass. Bankrolled by the Black Wall Street movement of the time, this group operated in plain sight through a system of Historically Black colleges and universities to create the research, technical know-how, and scientific scholarship needed to build the device known only as THE CHARIOT. From Lewis Lattimer, the “Hidden Figures” of NASA’s success, and young prodigies found within the Rosenwald school systems of the south, a collective effort to find and secretly recruit a league of prominent members to realize the machine has gone on for over a century
